JOB DESCRIPTION: | Primary Purpose:
- Support the implementation and application of the Supplemental Special Education Services program (SSES) which serves families of students with disabilities.
- Provide advanced consultative technical assistance to families, service providers, school districts, and vendors.
- Report progress with online accounts awarded and audits expenditures (including approving or denying purchases) of qualified families
- Support the activities and purpose of supplemental special educations services grant

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: | Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in education or in a field relevant to the assignment
- Texas Teaching Certificate in special education
- Master's Degree in an education related field preferred

- Knowledge of IDEA-B including federal and state accountability
- Effective training practices in a variety of settings (i.e., in-person, hybrid, virtual)
- Strong knowledge and skills in technology and various software programs
- Ability to objectively organize, evaluate data, create reports, and provide pertinent feedback
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of data
- Effective written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal and time management skills
- Ability to work in teams, problem solve and propose effective solutions

- Fluent in English and Spanish in all four domains (Listening, Speaking, Reading and

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: | Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Region 10 ESC Employees:

- Perform other duties as may be assigned by Region 10 Leadership
- Prepare and organize resources, train, and collaborate with Region 10 personnel

- Keep supervisor informed of program and district needs
- Maintain up-to-date entries in Region 10 databases and accurate records for tracking and invoicing

Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Consultant:
- Serves as a contact and acts as liaison for families seeking technical assistance related to SSES, tracks customer service requests, and coordinates with SSES Team regarding emerging needs to support families.
- Audits and approves all expenditures of goods, services related to SSES Audits and approves all potential service providers to the SSES Marketplace in collaboration with team.
- Communicates effectively and explains thoroughly to families that meet or do not meet eligibility for an online account, for families that are requesting an appeal.
- Supports the applications of third-party vendors interested in providing SSES goods and services.
- Works to support collaboration between TEA and external stakeholders
- Works to support collaboration between Region 10 Education Service Center and external stakeholders
- Willingness to seek on-going development of professional skills as appropriate to the job assignment
- Sustain a depth of knowledge in desired field and integration of such practices
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assist stakeholders, administrators, and teachers in serving students with diverse needs
- Maintain flexibility and the ability to willingly adapt to new situations as they arise
- Demonstrate effective coaching, mentoring, problem-solving and conferencing skills
- Assist with implementation of statewide initiatives, statewide projects and/or directives
- Participate in team project long-term planning, project development/implementation
- Provide input to budget planning
- Participate in collaborative meetings (TEA, ESCs, advisory council, committees)
- Accurately and timely respond to stakeholder requests for information and resources
- Assist with the development and implementation of marketing plan to promote events and resources associated with supplemental special education services (SSES) projects
- Assist with the planning, implement, manage, and monitor project social media accounts in order to increase project awareness
- Ability to assist with monitoring website analytics and manage content updates including liaising with in-house team and outside agencies (TEA, ESCs, Networks)

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: |
- Three or more years classroom and related experience
- Previous experience/knowledge of the SSES program is preferred
- Background in providing professional development
- Administrative experience preferred
- Background in data analysis preferred
