JOB DESCRIPTION: | Primary Purpose:
- To provide consulting and software support for the Skyward Student Information Services software and state mandated “PEIMS” Data Reporting System utilized by participating school districts.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: | Education/Certifications:
- High School Diploma
- College degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must be knowledgeable in school processes and procedures including but not limited to:
- Student Attendance Accounting
- Master Schedule Building/Student Scheduling
- Grade Reporting/Transcripts
- Student specific Texas PEIMS reporting
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Basic PC skills, use of WinZip, and installation of programs
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, both independently and as part of a team
- Must possess excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to multi-task
- Some knowledge of Windows servers and networks

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: | Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Region 10 ESC Employees:
- Ability to work on and enhance a team
- Utilize time wisely for effective management of position responsibilities and to ensure timelines are met
- Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings
- Maintain a positive, customer friendly, and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal)
- Participate as an effective team member who contributes to center-wide strategic planning goals
- Display proficient levels of technology applications and remain current in the area of digital integration
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by Region 10 Leadership
- Prepare and organize resources, train, and collaborate with Region 10 personnel
- Exhibit initiative in identifying problems and suggesting solutions in a positive manner
- Exhibit good judgement and decision making
- Keep supervisor informed of program and district needs
- Maintain up-to-date entries in Region 10 databases and accurate records for tracking and invoicing
- Adhere to Center procedures, guidelines, and policies
Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Skyward Student Support Specialist
Support
- Provides support to customers through: telephone and email support or use of webinar software, workshops and individual training sessions. Documents details of customer cases for future support reference; on site visits if warranted, and escalates qualified issues.
- Communicate issues efficiently to vendors in achieving quality resolutions quickly.
Training
- Trains local school district users in the proper procedures for the utilization of the supported Skyward Student Information Services software.
- Prepares materials, media, and presentation data for workshops.
- Participates in the presentation of materials at workshops and training sessions.
Quality Service Objectives
- Skyward module training and certification process.
- Anticipates and prepares for timeline of districts’ responsibilities.
- Provide customers with subject matter expertise
- Develops problem solving skills, including troubleshoot new development of the product.
- Assists in conducting user meetings at prescribed times.
- Coordinate 3rd party interface solutions between district, vendor, and Region 10 personnel if applicable.
- Present demonstrations for potential customers.
- Ability to deviate from established procedures without direct supervision as necessary to best accommodate customer demands.
- Use own judgment on customer inquiries that fall outside of normal procedure.
- Other duties as may be assigned by the Information Services Support Coordinator.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: |
- Experience as consultant supporting and training Student Information Systems software or as a user of computerized Skyward Student Information Software preferred. Actual Texas school district experience preferred.
