POSITION:  Teaching and Learning Consultant (Student Supports) 2 positions
JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Primary Purpose:

  • Work with the Texas Center for Student Supports to provide technical assistance and training to Region 10 LEAs in the Student Support Team Framework, parent-family and community engagement, and data monitoring protocols.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education/Certifications:

  • Current Texas State Teaching Certificate
  • Master's Degree

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of current research and effective practices in creating supportive learning environments
  • Understanding of research-based approaches to increase family engagement
  • Ability to lead coaching conversations with a wide array of stakeholders
  • Ability to lead stakeholder meetings utilizing set agendas and established protocols
  • Knowledge of research and practices with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Region 10 ESC Employees:

  • Ability to work on and enhance a team
  • Utilize time wisely for effective management of position responsibilities and to ensure timelines are met      
  • Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings
  • Maintain a positive, customer-friendly, and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal)
  • Participate as an effective team member who contributes to center-wide strategic planning goals
  • Display proficient levels of technology applications and remain current in the area of digital integration
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Region 10 Leadership
  • Prepare and organize resources, train, and collaborate with Region 10 personnel
  • Exhibit initiative in identifying problems and suggesting solutions in a positive manner
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision-making
  • Keep supervisor informed of program and district needs
  • Maintain up-to-date entries in Region 10 databases and accurate records for tracking and invoicing
  • Adhere to Center procedures, guidelines, and policies

 Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Consultant of Teaching and Learning (Student Supports)

  •  Provide training and technical assistance to LEAs on resources and supports developed by the Texas Center for Student Supports
  • Train and coach districts on the implementation of the data collection and reporting system developed by the Texas Center for Student Supports to gather and analyze data to monitor the efficacy of the implementation of the Student Support Program
  • Train and coach districts on the implementation and alignment of Student Support Team structures and behavioral threat assessment

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  
  • Three or more years of classroom teaching experience
  • Three or more years of district or campus administrative experience
  • Two or more years of experience leading  MTSS at the campus or district level
  • Two or more years of working with counselors (preferred)

 Accountability:

  • The Student Supports Consultant shall be directly accountable to the Program Coordinator or his/her designee.
