JOB QUALIFICATIONS: | Education/Certifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Preferred areas of study: Institutional Management, Food Service, Business, Nutrition, Family and Consumer Science, Public Health, Education, or related field management experience.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Supervisory and leadership skills in comprehensive planning and project management.
- Ability to interpret federal and state child nutrition policies and provide district level technical assistance.
- Knowledge of the methods, practices, and procedures of governmental purchasing.
- Knowledge of current research, trends, and effective practices in child and adult nutrition programs.
- Knowledge of federal and state regulations that govern USDA Child Nutrition programs.
- Knowledge of quantity food production, menu planning, and analysis for USDA programs.
- Knowledge of hazard analysis critical control points based on food safety plans.
- Knowledge of adult learning styles as they relate to continuing professional education.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: | Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Region 10 ESC Employees:

Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the CACFP Nutrition Program Coordinator:
Duties/responsibilities may change due to legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines governing the school, community, and summer meal programs, and as prescribed by TDA.
- Provide input to the Director and Assistant Director on child nutrition and collaborate on continuous growth and improvement of the program.
- Provide leadership development, materials and dissemination of information related to LEAs through professional development sessions, cohorts, written communication, email, and telephone.
- Provide compliance of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
- Maintain up-to-date entries in TXUNPS and Region 10 databases to ensure accurate tracking and invoicing.
- Provide organized program and networking opportunities for LEAs.
Training:
- Coordinate and sponsor regional trainings in all areas of program operations for Child Nutrition Program staff, including community and summer feeding programs.
- Provide training and technical assistance to LEAs as described in the Statement of Work outlined in the TDA/ESC annual contract.
- Provide professional development regarding child nutrition and TDA compliance.
Problem Solving and Decision-Making Skills:
- Provide structure for the Child Nutrition Program staff to ensure that contract deliverables are met timely and with a high standard of customer service and support for districts.
- Effectively interface with Region 10 staff, program participants, LEA administrators, TDA, and others in a positive manner when managing conflicts and addressing concerns. Lead/train other Child Nutrition Program staff in managing conflicts and concerns.
- Provide technical support and dissemination of information through on-site visits, written communication, webinars, distance learning, webpage, email, and telephone.
- Exhibit initiative in finding and meeting client needs and developing new program ideas.
- Exhibit good judgement in decision-making and interactions with all clients.
Program Leadership and Expertise:
- Serve as a representative of ESC Region 10, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public.
- Serve as the designated leader for the Region 10 Child Nutrition Program and related staff to ensure that work objectives are met, and services are available to districts.
- Provide accurate and targeted technical assistance to LEAs, and community nutrition and summer feeding program personnel in all areas of program operations with a focus on implementation of a specified program area.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all current state and federal regulations and guidance.
- Take advantage of personal/professional development opportunities to enhance job performance.
- Provide updates/material to LEAs, Region 10 staff, and others regarding pertinent program information.
- Lead the planning, development, and organizing program activities and collaborate with other Region 10 services and programs to enhance the Child Nutrition program’s impact.
- Collaborate with other ESC Regions to ensure equitable availability of training specialists across the state.

- Maintain program budgets, reporting information, and LEA files according to TDA guidelines.

- Continually create, develop, and implement new activities and adjust courses and session topics, including the annual summit, which meet the needs of clients as identified through evaluation and assessment activities.
- Maintain up-to-date entries in TDA SharePoint, TXUNPS, Region 10 Activity Tracker, and shared calendars.
- Assist with the development of program budgets and stay current with budget status.
- Perform additional duties as assigned supervisors or requested by TDA.
