POSITION:  Part-time Consultant of SLD (National Board)
JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Primary Purpose:

  • Create and maintain Region 10 ESC cohort project plans and steer the PLF/Mentor team toward successfully meeting current and future deadlines by providing status updates, organizing weekly cohort meetings, distributing and monitoring action items, identifying opportunities to streamline, and anticipating obstacles.
  • Communicate information among cohort teams, individuals at all levels of the Region 10 cohorts, and internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis to nurture collaboration and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Prepare and edit communications (such as memos, emails, and other correspondence) and documents (such as cohort session materials, instructions, invoices, and contracts) that are tailored to their intended audience and purpose.
  • Create and maintain records of all proceedings, cohort development archives, validity evidence, and standard operating procedures.
  • Proofread, copy edit, and revise Region 10 ESC National Board that can be utilized for publishing, social media material, and resources in various platforms and file formats.
  • Manage all logistics and participant assistance for internal cohort meetings and external stakeholder meetings, including scheduling;  providing agenda and materials; securing physical and/or virtual meeting space; arranging food and travel as needed; setup of meeting space; and ongoing monitoring and adjustments as needed during meetings.
  • For virtual meetings, serve as point person for platform management (e.g., breakout room management) and assist participants with technical issues.
  • Record and track the completion of action items that are assigned during meetings.
  • This position is contingent upon Region 10 ESC serving as the awardee/grantee of the National Board supporting grant.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • National Board Certification required

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Region 10 ESC Employees:

Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Part-time Consultant of Supervision & Leadership Development (National Board)

  • Develop and manage Region 10 ESC cohort project plans, ensuring the PLF/Mentor team meets deadlines by providing regular status updates, organizing weekly cohort meetings, and assigning action items.
  • Facilitate efficient communication and collaboration among cohort teams, individuals at various levels of the cohorts, and both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all project timelines are maintained.
  • Prepare, revise, and tailor communication materials and documents such as memos, emails, cohort session materials, instructions, invoices, and contracts to their intended audience and purpose.
  • Maintain comprehensive records, including all proceedings, cohort development archives, validity evidence, and standard operating procedures.
  • Proofread, copy edit, and revise content suitable for various platforms including the Region 10 ESC National Board, for publishing, social media use, and various file formats.
  • Manage all logistical aspects of internal cohort meetings and external stakeholder meetings, including coordinating schedules, preparing agendas and materials, and securing appropriate meeting spaces.
  • Coordinate travel and food arrangements as needed, set up meeting spaces, and make necessary adjustments during meetings to ensure seamless proceedings.
  • Serve as the primary contact for virtual meeting platform management, including managing breakout rooms and assisting participants with technical issues.
  • Document, track, and monitor the completion of action items assigned during all meetings.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  
  • Experience managing project plans, events, consultants, and/or processes is highly recommended.
  • Five years teaching in K-12 schools; and/or an equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, personnel management, quality assurance, and grant-writing skills.
  • Experience in managing budgets, invoicing, and contracts
  • Thorough knowledge of National Board certification, NBPTS Standards, and Core Propositions.
  • Skill in coordinating multiple events and projects, evaluating data, and establishing priorities.
  • Skill in program development and execution.
  • Ability to organize and maintain accurate databases and/or records.
  • Ability to participate in limited travel.

Accountability:

  • The Part-time Consultant of Supervision & Leadership Development (National Board) shall be directly accountable to the Assistant Director or his/her designee.
