POSITION:  Program Coordinator (Accountability & Assessment)
JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Primary Purpose:

  • Coordinate assigned programs in the areas of accountability and assessment
  • Use data-driven planning process to lead the design, develop, and implement professional learning to meet the needs of Local Education Agencies
  • Supervise and evaluate personnel
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education/Certifications:

  • Current Texas State Teaching Certification
  • Master’s Degree in an education-related field

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Oversee temporary and long-term state initiatives
  • Support the design and implementation of professional learning centered around innovative pedagogical practices
  • Support, design, and facilitate professional learning across multiple modalities, including face-to-face, blended, and online
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Region 10 ESC Employees:

  • Ability to work on and enhance a team
  • Utilize time wisely for effective management of position responsibilities and to ensure timelines are met
  • Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings
  • Maintain a positive, customer friendly, and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal)
  • Participate as an effective team member who contributes to center-wide strategic planning goals
  • Display proficient levels of technology applications and remain current in the area of digital integration
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Region 10 Leadership
  • Prepare and organize resources, train, and collaborate with Region 10 personnel
  • Exhibit initiative in identifying problems and suggesting solutions in a positive manner
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision making
  • Keep supervisor informed of program and district needs
  • Maintain up-to-date entries in Region 10 databases and accurate records for tracking and invoicing
  • Adhere to Center procedures, guidelines, and policies

Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Program Coordinator:

  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, andragogy, and current research
  • Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and learning
  • Lead the creation and implementation of quality professional learning opportunities
  • Remain knowledgeable and effectively communicate current laws, guidelines, and research related to teaching and learning, curriculum and instruction
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to assist districts in serving students with diverse needs
  • Ability to supervise and evaluate professional and support personnel
  • Demonstrate effective coaching, mentoring, problem-solving, and conferencing skills
  • Maintain appropriate documentation related to programs and personnel
  • Supervise implementation of center-wide and service area policies including personnel records, travel requests, travel reimbursements, and leave requests as appropriate
  • Work with employees and supervisors to resolve issues that can impact program success
  • Work with the supervisors to create job descriptions, post job openings, interview candidates, hire and assign appropriate staff to implement Region 10 programs
  • Identify problems and suggests solutions in a positive and proactive manner
  • Exhibit good judgment in decision making
  • Show discernment in determining appropriate action in a variety of situations
  • Maintain effective relationships with districts, political entities, vendors, statewide partners and organizations
  • Lead the implementation of statewide initiatives and/or directives
  • Oversee the development and implementation of new instructional programs, services, and systems of support for districts and campuses 
  • Interpret data, policy, and procedures
  • Supervise and collaborate with a wide variety of full-time and temporary personnel hired by Region 10 to present workshops/trainings
  • Plan, facilitate, and/or coordinate institutes, conferences, and/or speakers
  • Provide an organized program and networking opportunities for teachers and administrators
  • Work in collaboration with statewide agencies.
  • Lead and/ or facilitate cross-over team committee(s)
  • Fulfill other duties as assigned by center leadership
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  
  • Five or more years of experience in an education-related field
  • Supervisory experience with educational professionals (may include campus level, or district level)
  • Background in providing staff development
  • Background in designing and leading initiatives
  • Background and experience with Campus and District Testing Coordinators
  • Background and strong knowledge of the current Accountability system.
