POSITION:  Consultant (Office of Federal Programs)
JOB DESCRIPTION:  

Primary Purpose:

  • Provide training, leadership, and support in the areas of Special Revenues (ESSA & ESSER funds.
  • Support the activities and purpose of the ESSA and ESSER funds, SSA Management, and application/program support through the context of technical support, professional learning, and the process of consultation.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:  

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in educational related field (Masters Preferred).
  • Federal programs experience (preferred).

 Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of (ESSA) Programs.
  • Knowledge of (ESSER) Programs.
  • Knowledge of and ability to meet the needs of adult learners.
  • Ability to initiate and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to objectively evaluate data and provide pertinent feedback.
  • Ability to plan and implement institutes, conferences, and sessions for large and small groups.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Region 10 ESC Employees:

  • Ability to work on and enhance a team.
  • Utilize time wisely for effective management of position responsibilities and to ensure timelines are met.              
  • Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings.
  • Maintain a positive, customer friendly, and professional tone in all communication (i.e. email, written, and verbal).
  • Participate as an effective team member who contributes to center-wide strategic goals.
  • Display proficient levels of technology applications and remain current in the area of digital integration.
  • Prepare and organize resources, train, and collaborate with Region 10 personnel.
  • Exhibit initiative in identifying problems and suggesting solutions in a positive manner.
  • Exhibit good judgment and decision making.
  • Keep supervisor informed of program and district needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date entries in Region 10 databases and accurate records for tracking and invoicing.
  • Adhere to Center procedures, guidelines, and policies.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by Region 10 Leadership.

 Specific Responsibilities and Duties for the Consultant State Allotments & ESSA Title II

  • Provide technical support through a variety of mediums in Texas State Allotment.
  • Provide technical support through a variety of mediums for ESSA programs and ESSER Programs.
  • Provide technical support regarding the monitoring process for ESSER & ESSA.
  • Support LEAs in the ESSA and ESSER application, program compliance reports, comprehensive needs assessment, campus improvement plan, and overall schoolwide planning.
  • Support LEAs with fiscal and compliance issues specific to ESSA and ESSER funds.
  • Present professional expertise in a variety of mediums including face to face, small group, large group, web-based sessions and/or videos.
  • Facilitate one-to-one consultations with ESSER and ESSA SSA members.
  • Create innovative and engaging resources for ESSER and ESSA SSA members.
  • Seek on-going development of professional skills as appropriate to the job assignment.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of evidence-based practices and current research.
  • Sustain a depth of knowledge in desired field and integration of such practices.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to assist administrators and teachers in serving students with diverse needs.
  • Demonstrate effective coaching, mentoring, problem-solving and conferencing skills.
  • Assist with implementation of statewide initiatives and/or directives.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  
  • Five or more years of classroom teaching, grant management, federal program management, or related experience.
  • Administrative experience, preferably in Federal programs.
  • Background in providing superior staff development at the local, state and/or national level.

 Accountability:

  • The Office of Federal Programs Consultant shall be directly accountable to the Federal Program Administrator or his/her designee.

SALARY:  $68,000-$88,225 (Salary estimate based on experience and skill set.) Funding for this position is only available through September 30, 2024.
